What is airsoft?

Airsoft is a combat sport similar to Paintball in which participants eliminate their opponents by hitting them with 6 mm (or occasionally 8 mm) plastic BBs (small, spherical balls) launched from airsoft guns. These can be powered by CO2, Green Gas, spring, or electrically powered gearboxes actuating a piston.

Does it hurt?
This largely depends on from what distance you are hit. Generally speaking though, it's as if somone had flicked your skin. It is our opinion that it hurts less than paintball.

How do you know you've been hit? The Honour system.
Perhaps the most common question with airsoft. Unlike paintball, no visible mark is left on your person or equipment. This however will not stop you from feeling the hit at which point you are required to shout that you've been hit and retire to a safe zone.

What if you feel like cheating or you didn't feel the hit?
We accept in certain circumstances people just don't feel hits. In hot zones or areas of fast and furious play marshals will be present keeping an eye on things and will point out a hit if not taken/missed. Our marshalls do keep an eye out for cheating and they will ping you for it!

What clothes should I wear?
Whilst we do provide overalls, it is best to wear clothing that you don't mind getting a bit muddy. Some people like to wear a hat (e.g. Beanie) to protect their ears We recommend footwear with good grip and preferably ankle support. We also recommend gloves.

What safety gear do you provide?
We provide full face masks and overalls. The masks have a visor made of a fine wire mesh, that won't steam up.

Are you insured?
Yes. Although this is a fun activity, we take the business seriously.

Can I bring my own guns?
Of course! We want you to enjoy yourself so if you have your own airsoft guns, please bring them. Our limits are 350fps for Electrics and 500 for Springs. It will also reduce the amount you pay!

What guns do you provide?
We provide ak47 beta Spetsnaz, suitable for both kids and adults. A picture of it is below. Click it for a larger image.

What do the guns fire?
The guns fire 6mm plastic pellets. They are capable of firing in both fully automatic and single shot modes.

Do you provide food?
We provide soft drinks (coke, water etc) and some snacks (mars bars etc).

Is this legal? I've heard it isn't in the UK. The VCR Bill and Airsoft.
The Violent Crimes Reductions (VCR) bill does not effect us here in the channel islands so, yes, it is legal.

Can i still get stuff from the uk?
Yes you can, if challenged please point the seller to this page on the UKARA web site.

What does FPS mean?
Feet Per Second (FPS) is the the standard term for how much power an airsoft product puts out. This is measured using a chronograph with the airsoft gun firing a .20g ball, and is the speed at which your gun fires it's .20g round.

I've heard UK sites have have set FPS limits, what are yours? Alpha Elite Gaming has chosen to the use the following power limits:
AEG's up to 350FPS +/- 5%

Single shot sniper/counter sniper rifles starting at 400fps and up to 500FPS ( Over 18s only and must be a regular player)

Can i bring my own pyrotechnics on site?
No, only pyrotechnics purchased on site may be used.

Are your pyrotechnics safe?
The standard of our pyrotechnics are extremely high. They are made by Enola Gaye/TLSFX who are some of the best in the business.

I've seen people using blank firing grenades, can I?
Yes, as long as they are approved training grenades such as ones produced by Dynatec. You may use 9mm anywhere onsite, 12gauge are banned.

Where are you located?
We are located in Rozel. Please go HERE for our location section that inludes a map, a GoogleEarth placemark and written directions. Please be aware there is only a limited amount of on road parking so we would ask that people share lifts or get dropped off. Further parking is available at white rock.
